We are saddened to announce the passing of our colleague, friend, and special counsel, Harry M. Hanna.  Harry practiced law for 55 years and was an accomplished and respected business lawyer. He will be remembered by all of us for his professional excellence, integrity, humble character, and his warm and positive approach to life.

Harry joined Sussman Shank in 2004 and made significant contributions to the firm and to the broader legal community.  A seasoned business lawyer, Harry had an impressive amount of experience in the areas of real estate, business, taxation, and estate planning and wealth preservation.

Harry attended the University of Portland and the University of Oregon and earned his B.S. in 1958.  He attended law school at Northwestern School of Law of Lewis and Clark College, and received his J.D. in 1966.

Early in his career, Harry served as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Lewis and Clark College Law School (1976-77), and as a Pro tem Judge on the District Court of the State of Oregon from 1973 to 1977.

Over the years, Harry was an active member and leader of many community and civic organizations in the Portland area.  Family meant everything to Harry, and he greatly valued the time he spent with loved ones.

Harry’s humor, wit, grace, and genuine friendship will be sorely missed by all.  We extend our sincerest condolences to the entire family.
