We are pleased to announce that our Partner, Darin Honn, is the recipient of the 2019 Home Builders Foundation-Home Aid Portland’s Volunteer of the Year Award.
This award honors one individual whose outstanding contributions and commitment to the organization made a significant impact to further the Home Builders Foundation’s mission to build and rehabilitate women’s, children’s, and homeless shelters. Darin has exemplified years of service through substantial pro-bono legal work, leadership positions within the organization, and being civically connected and involved in the community on homelessness issues.
About Darin D. Honn
Darin has been involved with the Home Builders Foundation since 2008. He first became involved with the HBF because he personally wanted to contribute to the mission of building transitional shelter for homeless families. Darin was President of HBF in 2011 and has served on the board of directors and other committees throughout the years. He has been involved with numerous HBF projects, including Portland Rescue Mission – The Harbor, Portland Homeless Family Solutions – Goose Hollow Family Shelter, Community of Hope – Hope House, New Meadows – Dorothy Lemelson House, Clackamas Women’s Services House, and Bradley Angle-Bonnie Tinker House.
In addition, Darin played an integral role in a number of Annual HBF Auctions as well as other signature events. Darin has also served the transitional shelter community by dedicating volunteer time to assist Community of Hope and Union Gospel Mission, and has led/or is leading projects constructing the Rotary Center for Career Training at New Avenues for Youth and Rotary’s Project 2020 – The Rotary Center at Morrison Family Services. Darin has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for these projects.
For over 30 years, Darin has focused his practice on a variety of business, construction, and real estate matters. He represents high-tech, construction, development, manufacturing and retail companies, as well as homeowners’ associations, professionals and service organizations.
